Stompede has been thrilling fans since 1978 and as it salutes its 40th year the excitement continues.
It starts with a parade on Wednesday, May 31 and chuckwagon racing the same night and continues with professional rodeo and chuckwagon Thursday to Sunday. Rodeo slack is noon on Wednesday and the regular rodeo at 1 p.m. each day after that. The chucks start at 5 p.m. nightly in front of the grandstand at Gordon Badger Stadium.
There are concerts Friday and Saturday in the ENTREC Centre with Washboard Union performing Friday and Mark Chesnutt Saturday and Trevor Panczak both nights.
Stompede moved to the spacious and beautiful Evergreen Park in 1982 and since its inception in 1978 as attracted well over a million fans.
One of the feature attractions is the midway, which kicks off on the Thursday of Stompede this year.
