An all Peace Country entertainment line-up is scheduled for the sixth annual Guitars and Wagons, June 15-18, at Evergreen Park.
In past, the Western Chuckwagon Association (WCA) hosted the event but in most recent years the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre has taken on the role as host. This year, however, the WCA takes the reigns once again.
“We just want to bring it back to local events. We’ve had a turn in the economy, there’s been a change in structure as to who is putting on Guitars and Wagons, and we wanted to reduce the cost but also to support our local talent here in the peace country, said event coordinator Bobby Eskdale, of this year’s event.
WCA President Dean Dreger said online sales have been going well and they expect many to be in attendance.
The event will also give local performers the opportunity to grow their image and have their songs heard.
“We want to support locals because locals have always supported us.” said Dreger.
