DESCRIPTION:Want to find out what amazing concoctions can be created from bacon? \nJoin us at Baconfest on Sunday\, July 12 and find out. \nBaconfest\, besides being tasty\, is also a fundraiser for the Grande Prairie County Firefighters Charitable Foundation. The Foundation provides financial assistance\, promoted community engagement\, and delivers education that makes a real difference in the lives of local residents. \nProceeds from Baconfest food sales and a 50/50 will go towards the Foundation. \nBaconfest is one of several special events being held during The Horses @ Evergreen Park this racing season. \nFree Hot Dog Day was held on July 5 and the others include: \nJuly 19: Wiener Dog Derby \nJuly 26: Derby Day (GP Oaks and GP Derby) \nAugust 9: Family Fun Day \nAugust 15-16: Memorial Weekend \nAugust 23: Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure \nThere is no admission fee and racing goes every Saturday and Sunday (and holiday Monday\, August 3) until August 23. \nFirst post for every race day is 1:15 p.m. \nThere is a beverage tent\, indoor and outdoor betting stations\, and both the Pines Family Restaurant and Wild Horse Casino & Lounge are located in the same venue. A $8.95 full breakfast (9-11 a.m.) is the feature menu item at both the restaurant and lounge. \nThe restaurant and lounge open at 9 a.m. and betting on the 99 slot machines and VLTs starts at 10 a.m. The restaurant is open until 8 p.m. and the casino until 1 a.m. daily.
