STOMPEDE HAS A LONG HISTORY AT THE PARK
Evergreen Park has been the venue for the Grande Prairie Stompede since 1982.
Stompede, the largest entertainment event in the Peace Country, started in 1978 at the old County of Grande Prairie fairgrounds on the east city of the city where Crystal Park School is now located.
Both Stompede and Evergreen Park have grown exponentially ever since.
Stompede has added:

- arts competition
- VIP boxes,
- tarp sale
- music competition
Evergreen Park has added:
- minor ball diamonds
- campground
- outdoor theatre
- light show
- disc golf course
- casino
- restaurants
- archery centre
- indoor riding arena
- sled dog adventures
Other amenities to go along with its 2,700-seat stadium and other facilities that were erected when the Park first opened over 40 years ago are part of the Park.
While you are at Stompede make sure you stop into the Wild Horse Casino & Lounge or the Pines Family Restaurant. They are part of the Gordon Badger Stadium at J.D.A. Raceway.
The Wild Horse Lounge is open from 9 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. daily and Wild Horse Casino from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. The Pines is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The casino features 99 slots and VLTs and offers year-round horse racing you can watch on over a dozen screens. There are betting machines available to play the ponies.
Live horse racing on J.D.A. Raceway goes weekend in July and August.
