Located within Evergreen Park, J.D.A. Raceway is a premier 5/8-mile horse racing track and the proud home of World Professional Chuckwagon Association races. Rich in tradition and community spirit, it stands as northwestern Alberta’s top destination for live thoroughbred racing and equestrian events.
Each summer, J.D.A. Raceway comes alive with The Horses @ Evergreen Park, held throughout July and August, delivering thrilling race days and an exciting atmosphere for fans of all ages. The venue is also a key location during the iconic Grande Prairie Stompede, drawing visitors from across the region.
Spectators enjoy a covered grandstand with seating for over 2,600, plus additional bleacher seating that expands capacity to well over 3,000. For major events, attendance has exceeded 7,000 guests, including large-scale shows like Nitro Circus Live and popular monster truck events.
With spacious grandstands, professional-grade track facilities, and a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere, J.D.A. Raceway offers an unforgettable experience for both fans and competitors. From summer race days to major entertainment events, it remains a cornerstone of sport and entertainment in Grande Prairie.
J.D.A. Ventures Ltd. was established in 1986 by Jarvis Dawson as a small mechanic shop, then in 1994 became a one truck hotshot company operating out of an automotive shop. That’s where the “A” comes from in J.D.A.
Today, they are a well-known trucking company and crane service operating out of Grande Prairie, Fort Saint John and Whitecourt. With over 250 pieces of equipment and 150 + employees, J.D.A. is growing fast.
