Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure is an annual event held on the last day of racing every year at The Horses @ Evergreen Park.
This year it goes Sunday, August 23.
The day is for creating awareness about pancreatic cancer. Everyone is encouraged to wear purple and, perhaps, win a prize.
Paint The Park Purple is one of several special events held during The Horses @ Evergreen Park.

July 5: Free Hot Dog Day – the season opener.
July 12: Baconfest – fundraiser for the County of Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation.
July 19: Wiener Dog Derby – dogs running in the dirt. Too much fun!
July 26: Derby Day featuring the GP Oaks and GP Derby and Derby Brunch.
August 9: Family Fun Day – for the kids. All free and all fune!
August 15-16: Memorial Weekend – honoring those who are no longer with us who have made an impact on the sport of horse racing.
August 23: Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure. This is to create awareness about pancreatic cancer.
There is no admission fee and first post is 1:15 p.m.
There is a beverage tent, indoor and outdoor betting stations, and both the Pines Family Restaurant and Wild Horse Casino & Lounge are located in the same venue. A $8.95 full breakfast (9-11 a.m.) is the feature menu item at both the restaurant and lounge.
The restaurant and lounge open at 9 a.m. and betting on the 99 slot machines and VLTs starts at 10 a.m. The restaurant is open until 8 p.m. and the casino until 1 a.m. daily.
