EVERGREEN GETS FUNDING FOR ENHANCED CELL SERVICE

EVERGREEN GETS FUNDING FOR ENHANCED CELL SERVICE

When you walk into the offices at Evergreen Park you can’t miss the words on the wall – “Welcome To Evergreen Park … Guests First!”

Thanks in big part to TELUS, the Government of Alberta and the County of Grande Prairie, Park guests have been put first again.

The contributions of those three and the Park itself means cellular connectivity will be greatly enhanced at Evergreen.

The project, with a value of over $1.5 million, means when large events are hosted at the Park the cell phone interruptions will be greatly reduced if not totally eliminated.

Cellular connectivity will be increased to between 8,000 and 18,000 uses.

Grande Prairie Wapiti MLA Ron Wiebe  (photo above) presented a government cheque for $495,000 to Evergreen Park General Manager Kim Randall recently.

“Evergreen Park is grateful for the strategic vision of Minister Sigurdson and the provincial agriculture department in providing funding,” said Randall.

Evergreen Park (Grande Prairie Regional Agriculture and Exhibition Society) is one of seven regional ag centres in the province and is one of the longest serving having been established over 110 years ago.
