KISS ME HELLO WINS ACTRA STAKES RACE
Butch McDonald (photo right) had himself a weekend!
The veteran trainer racked up three victories at The Horses At Evergreen Park on the weekend with the biggest of them coming Sunday when his horse Kiss Me Hello won the Alberta Community Thoroughbred Association (ACTRA) Alberta Bred Stakes at J.D.A. Raceway.
Kiss Me Hello, owned by Nax 2 Holdings, earned $8,162 of the $15,400 purse for the victory. Jockey Shamaree Muir was in the saddle.
HK Rapper, owned by On The Rail Racing and trained by Jason Coney, was second while Bare Back Jack, owned and trained by Colton Mead, was third.
In Race 4 on Sunday, Thunder Gold, trained by the senior McDonald and son Nick McDonald, finished first while on Saturday Butch and Nax 2 Holdings were winners with Bumley in Race No. 5.
The other feature race Sunday was the Bert Delaney Memorial. Charlie’s Copy, owned and trained by Clint Rycroft, was the winner taking $3,604 of the $6,800 purse.
There were two feature races on Saturday.
Forgotten Man, owned and trained by Rycroft, was winner of the Helen Fenton Memorial while RB’s Tager, trained by Lyle Magnuson and owned by Max Gibb, was victorious in the Calvin Strandquist Memorial Race.
A total of $173,094 was wagered on the weekend including $107,361 on Sunday.
The final weekend of racing goes August 23-24 including the Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure on Sunday.
