It's a delicious food win-win on Sunday at The Horses At Evergreen Park.
Open Farm Day is on the menu and so is some great Farm To Table food as part of the Park's Lunch-Tizer.
Local producers are providing the ingredients and the Park's professional chefs will be creating the tasty morsels.
There are five items on the Lunch-Tizer menu. They will be available from 1-3 p.m. and are $4 each.
Broken Tine Orchard is providing the ingredients for Fricey’s Ice Cream Treat - local fruit and dairy combined to bring you rich, creamery ice cream. Your choice of raspberry and haskap flavors.
The Homestead Farm option is Caramelized Polynesian Pork Shoulder served with naan bites.
Harmony’s Way Farm’s offering is Mediterranean Style Lamb with citrus lattice potato gaufrettes.
Good Food Farm has pork loin Hungarian Goulash with langos bread on the menu.
At the Evergreen Park table will be a hickory smoked prime rib ciabatta slider.
Open Farm Day goes noon to 5 p.m. and includes:
- Wagon rides
- Free face painting
- Horse Racing Alberta jockey horse demo
- Barn tours

On Saturday there are six races on the card and Sunday seven including the ACTRA Alberta Bred Stakes and the Marathon Series Leg 3. First post both days is 1:15 p.m. and admission is free.
The season wraps up August 26-27 with the Sunday being the big one – Mr. Mike’s Paint The Park Purple – Race For The Cure and the Dino Derby.
Purple Day is a fund-raiser for pancreatic cancer research. Everyone is invited to dress up in purple with prizes for best dressed.
The Dino Derby is an awareness for the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum and includes an information booth, dino dig and, of course, the dino races on the track as soon as the horse races end. Admission to racing and all events at The Horses At Evergreen Park is free. First post for all horse races is 1:15 p.m.
